This game, and this team, reflected everything we love about the People’s Game: a beautiful run of play from one of the greatest sports teams ever assembled, male or female, seamlessly integrated with a defiant stance against Trump and all he represents; a celebration of themselves and each other, and a demand for justice that reverberated throughout the women’s game and beyond. It was not simply a national victory, but a victory for all of us who aren’t going to the f**king White House. Congrats USWNT!!
